The "devastated" mum of a man who was allegedly murdered Edinburgh has made a heartbreaking plea following her son's shock death. Peter Mullen, 30, died after police were called to Leith Street, near the Omni Centre, at around 7.45pm on Friday, June 2.
Police subsequently arrested Dylan Curran in connection with the death. The 23-year-old appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, June 20, charged with murder, reports Leeds Live. She said: "Sadly, Peter has left behind a broken family and three beautiful children. The money raised will be used towards funeral expenses and a memorial for his children back at home in Leeds, so that they will have somewhere to be able to go and grieve themselves.
Curran, from Bonnyrigg in Midlothian, made no plea or declaration during the brief hearing and was remanded in custody, pending another hearing this week.
