Destiny 3 is once again trending for the millionth time as players are seeing that Destiny 2’s playercount is at an all time low. But it's a fantasy.
. It’s not exactly a shock, as this is the tail end of the middle season of the year and post-Final Shape, the conclusion of a ten year arc. But a nightly peak of 22,000 players is…especially bad.
In terms of current plans, future plans and the state of Bungie, Destiny 3 actually existing any time this decade is just a dream. The problems: Bungie has already laid out plans for where Destiny is going, and it does not involve Destiny 3. The game is about to enter its “Frontiers” era, which despite two expansions a year, they are smaller, and there are no more seasons or episodes, with a focus on rotating “ritual” activities in the in-between times, and it will be less content overall per year.
