I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.

Well, it’s the Season of Stasis in Destiny 2 for its Revenant episode, and as such, players have been experimenting with old gear they may not have pulled out in a while.

One of those items are the Warlock exotic gloves Ballidorse Wrathweavers, which were recently buffed but also uh, completely broke the game by accident. This was the partial return of an old bug involving tick damage, where if you’d apply it with something like Witherhoard, you could then use the Warlock’s super attack with Wrathweavers to one-shot any boss with millions of damage instantly. Some

One of those videos suggests this was found as early as November 20, but in the last 48 hours or so it really started to spread, and content creators were beginning to make videos about it, so Bungie stepped in before everyone started breaking every activity in the game. They’re disabled, and we do not know when they’ll be back. So if you had a normal Wrathweaver build, you’re out of luck for the indefinite future.

So, you can see the difference between a bug that fully breaks a game and one that is too strong but not urgent enough to disable say, an entire subclass super. I do highly recommend this build and it’s particular fun with Doomfang Pauldrons for lengthy supers that can include that broken melee bashing.

Many people are saying that it should be kept the way it is but I mean, in practice, that would make essentially all other Titan builds not worth using. And no we can’t do the whole “buff everything to that level” thing, which means you’d need to buff all the three class’s supers, which means you’d need to buff boss health and whoops everything gets messed up with power creep. So yes, one nerf to one super is the right call, as much of a buzzkill as that may be. Enjoy it while it lasts.
