There are plans for animal therapy, games, quizzes and sing alongs
Pendle Brook Care Home in Oswaldtwistle plan to run animal therapy, games, quizzes and sing alongs every Tuesday starting on September 13, from 10.30am to noon. The cafe recently opened on the ground floor to help people with the neurocognitive disorder socialise, relax and have a safe space to go to.
“It can be lonely having dementia and a usual cafe can be too stressful for them and most carers don’t know where to take them,” she said. Ian Jenkins, a well known singer in the care home community, is scheduled to perform at the premises in October and Lancashire duo, Trouble at Mill will be joining the cafe in November.
