Ryan Reynolds was confirmed to be joining the MCU in Deadpool 3 after Disney's acquisition of Fox was finalized in 2019, continuing his story that unfolded in 2016's Deadpool and 2018's Deadpool 2.
Deadpool is most well known for his fourth-wall breaking and quick wit, reinforcing the anithero's nickname: the Merc with a Mouth. During his previous appearances in Fox's X-Men franchise, Deadpool cracked jokes at a variety of superhero films, including those in the MCU, DC Studios' live-action films' darker tones, and Fox's own X-Men characters, who were curiously missing throughout most of Deadpool's adventures.
Deadpool 3 Can Reference 2005's Fantastic Four Wolverine Deleted Scene With Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot right around the corner, Deadpool 3 may be the perfect place to plant seeds of the team's eventual introduction into the MCU. This can easily be done by referencing Fox's failed attempts at accurately adapting the Marvel Comics team into live-action.
Deadpool 2's X-Men Reference Supports A 2005 Fantastic Four Moment Deadpool 3 revisiting 2005's Fantastic Four deleted scene wouldn't be the first time that the Merc with a Mouth has done something similar, as Deadpool 2's mid-credits sequence features another hilarious reference to a previous 20th Century Fox film.
