The Marine Mammal Stranding Center said Wednesday the humpback whale was about a half-mile off Seaside Park as of 1 p.m.
The MMSC said it is waiting for the whale to land on the beach before it sends marine biologists to examine it.discovered floating in a shipping channel farther north on Monday
or a different one, according to Clean Ocean Action. The organization notified Seaside Park officials of the whale. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center was then contacted. Seaside Park police said earlier Wednesday that a deceased whale was about a half-mile off the L Street Beach.
