GEORGE TOWN: The body of a man wearing a brown shirt and black pants was found floating in the waters off Tanjung Bungah on Monday (March 16).
A spokesman from Fire and Rescue Department said the victim was identified as 61-year-old Lim Eng Joo from Tanjung Bungah and his remains were successfully retrieved and handed over to the police.
The spokesman said the department received a distress call from the public about the discovery of the body. "We received a call at 9.56am Monday and a team of firemen was dispatched from the Bagan Jermal fire station," the spokesman said in a statement.When contacted, George Town OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong confirmed that the incident took place this morning and investigations were underway.
