67 years after their original debut, DC Comics has just introduced a brand-new version of The Suicide Squad, the likes of which we've never seen before. Introduced in the pages of Absolute Wonder Woman, this new take on the classic villain team promises to be incredibly unique.

In the newly released Absolute Wonder Woman #16 by Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman, G.A.T.E.S Director Veronica Cale pulls out all the stops in her war against Diana of the Wild Isle, unleashing the Absolute Suicide Squad with a unique roster of foes. Additionally, we also know that the team's apparent leader has a major one-up over Wonder Woman herself. DC Finally Debuts The Absolute Suicide Squad During the opening night of Barbara Minerva's Amazonian exhibit at the Gateway City National History Museum, the party gets crashed with the arrival of DC's brand-new Absolute Suicide Squad. The new roster includes some classic Wonder Woman foes, such as Doctor Poison, Giganta, and a version of Cheetah . There's also a fish-woman who's teased as being the Queen of the Kappa from Japanese legend Furthermore, the new team is being led by Absolute Zatanna, who made her debut two issues prior in Absolute Wonder Woman #14 when she cast a major spell on Diana in her astral form. Earlier in the issue, it was also confirmed that every member of this new version of the Suicide Squad has parasites injected into their bodies rather than bombs like we've seen in the main DC Universe and movies with Amanda Waller's Task Force X. However, the risk of certain death is the same if they don't return to base upon mission completion to have the parasites removed. Cale can also speed up the process if her assets don't fall in line and follow orders while in the field. Wonder Woman Is Already At A Major Disadvantage Against Absolute Zatanna To make matters worse for Absolute Wonder Woman, it's confirmed in this issue that Zatanna's previous binding spell worked. Unable to use her magic, Diana's power is now under Absolute Zatanna's command, suggesting that Wonder Woman may very well become her puppet and used to ruin her own reputation with the people of Gateway City .
