According to his longtime producing partner, Lynch had a project in the works at Netflix that was scrapped during the pandemic.
, Sabrina Sutherland — who has been working with Lynch since Twin Peaks’ debut in 1990 — was asked about the project, called “Unrecorded Night.”
Sutherland was asked about Lynch filing DGA copyrights for 13 scripts on the project, and wondered about it’s status. According to Sutherland, the project was in the works, but isn’t as of now. “Unrecorded Night was a non-Twin Peaks series that was going to shoot at Netflix but was cancelled when the pandemic hit,” wrote Sutherland. “There’s always a chance we can pick it up again, but David has been enjoying his artwork and music endeavors, so we haven’t gone back to it yet.”, someone else asked about whether or not Unrecorded Night or Wisteria could still be made, to which Sutherland simply replied “yes” to.
Aside from a handful of short films released in 2018 and 2020, Lynch hasn’t released a project since 2017’s Twin Peaks: The Return, a sequel series to the original Twin Peaks. As far as the world of film goes, Lynch has not directed a feature film in nearly two decades, with his last being 2006’s Inland Empire, which starred Laura Dern, Jeremy Irons, and Justin Theroux.Anthony Nash has been writing about games and the gaming industry for nearly a decade.
