Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT David Lynch's animated film Snootworld is not moving forward at Netflix, but the creator has revealed more details about the family film. Lynch is best known for his surrealist filmmaking, applied to his best-known work such as Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, and Mulholland Drive. His latest work in film and television was a series of short films in 2020, though he has also produced an assortment of web content since then.
David Lynch : I don’t know when I started thinking about Snoots but I’d do these drawings of Snoots and then a story started to emerge. I got together with Caroline and we worked on a script. Just recently I thought someone might be interested in getting behind this so I presented it to Netflix in the last few months but they rejected it. Snootworld is kind of an old fashioned story and animation today is more about surface jokes.
Snootworld Would Be A Unique Direction For Lynch's Film Career Although Lynch's family film isn't going to be moving forward at Netflix, these new details from him and Thompson confirm they still want to make the movie come to life. While it's unclear if Lynch himself will tackle the co-writing and directing of the movie, the possibility remains open. He's also mentioned his daughter, Jennifer Lynch, taking on the project, but that too remains up in the air.
