The reward amount will be determined by the tip’s value and the crime’s severity.
Crime Stoppers of Dauphin County has announced that they will double the reward granted for those who submit tips to law enforcement that lead to arrests.
The reward amounts are being raised across the board, with the minimum reward will be raised from $200 to $400, and the maximum amount rising from $2,000 to $4,000. The amount will be determined by the tip’s value and the crime’s severity. In a press release, Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo said that the tips can still remain anonymous, and that the added incentive is to help keep up with inflation.
Crime Stoppers has helped solved crimes, including murder, that would have remained unsolved, Chardo said in the release. From 1986 to July of 2022, Dauphin County Crime Stoppers received 7,343 tips, an average of 25 annually. Those tips have resulted in nearly 900 rewards totaling $237,710, and have led to 1,516 arrests, 2,529 cases cleared, and $1.16 million worth of property recovered over 36 years.Dauphin County Crime Stoppers websiteIf you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
