Ducati Lenovo Team leverages data analytics and Lenovo's high-performance computing to gain a competitive edge in MotoGP racing, turning raw race data into real-time decisions and strategic adjustments.
MotoGP has always been about speed, skill, and precision. Of course, racing is about horsepower, but it’s also about processing power. The Ducati Lenovo Team is proving that data is the new fuel driving victory on the track.
“All the data that is collected during the three days on track is absolutely important to gain seconds and seconds to make the bikes faster,” said Lara Rodini, Lenovo’s Global Sponsorships and Activation Director. Each Ducati MotoGP bike is a rolling data center, screaming around the track at about 220 miles per hour. With over 50 onboard sensors, the bike captures real-time information about braking, acceleration, tire grip, aerodynamics, and rider performance.Over the course of a race weekend, it adds up to nearly 100 gigabytes of data, all analyzed to squeeze every possible advantage.Behind the scenes, Lenovo’s high-performance computing solutions connect Ducati’s engineers at the circuit with a “digital twin” back at team headquarters in Bologna, Italy. “So, it's like having two races in parallel,” Rodini said. “So, it's like having two brains working together.” This remote “digital garage” allows engineers to simulate conditions, analyze sensor feedback, and optimize bike settings instantly. Every turn, every brake, every fraction of a second is measured, analyzed, and optimized through data. All this data flows through Lenovo’s HPC and edge computing systems, the same technology used in advanced AI and enterprise applications. By turning raw race data into real-time decisions, Lenovo helps Ducati make strategic adjustments.Modern MotoGP is a battle not just of riders, but of algorithms. For Ducati and Lenovo, the difference between first and second place comes down to talent and the tech. Because in data-driven racing, the difference between first and second can be measured in milliseconds.“The passion, the passion that you can find all over the world,” Rodini said. “It's just something that you cannot really describe. It's something that you feel and you can't really get away from.”SAN ANTONIO - Police say they shut down an illegal gambling operation on the city’s East Side, seizing dozens of slot machines in a bust the department called aSAN ANTONIO - A body was discovered in a brush fire early Saturday morning on the city's East Side. The scene occurred near the 1500 block of Rigsby Avenue arounSAN ANTONIO — Authorities are responding to a reported shooting on the South Side.First responders were called around 9:30 p.m. to the 1700 block of Southeast MSAN ANTONIO - This morning, closing arguments will be heard in the capital murder trial of Christopher Preciado.
