The heat is back on for Utah.
After a small reprieve from extreme temperatures, the heat is back on for Utah ns living in the most densely-populated part of the state, and for Utah ns living in one of the state's most popular tourist spots.
The scorching heat will persist throughout the day, with little respite even during the nighttime hours, as lows are predicted to remain in the 70s. In Northern Utah, a heat advisory was in place for the Wasatch Front and all areas westward, also through Thursday. Temperatures were expected to reach almost to 100, though it was likely to stop at 99 degrees, said 2News Chief Meteorologist Lindsay Storrs.
There is a possibility of isolated thunderstorms in parts of central and eastern Utah on Friday due to a weak storm system. However, relief from the heat is expected by Father's Day and early next week, with cooler temperatures anticipated.
