City Hall has also continued to pour money into street and sidewalk repairs, but maintenance was deferred for so long that the need is overwhelming. Residents all over the city have to drive through pothole-riddled roads and deal with crumbling or nonexistent sidewalks.The task for city leaders is not only to make the right investments but also to refine existing processes to ensure that crucial departments such as building permitting, zoning and code enforcement are working smoothly.
If people want the council and city management to get on track with delivering high-quality basic services, while avoidingsuch as guaranteed incomes or a down payment giveaways, they better vote for it. There is one thing you can do now. Make your voice heard through town halls and public hearings for the budget andCity government will run better if you’re involved.
