Forrest Hoglund, a renowned Dallas philanthropist and business leader, has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 George H.W. Bush Distinguished Alumnus Award by the College Baseball Foundation. This prestigious honor recognizes the accomplishments of college baseball players who have achieved greatness beyond the diamond. Hoglund, a 91-year-old natural gas executive, played baseball at the University of Kansas between 1954 and 1956, serving as team captain and standout player.

After graduation, Hoglund said he chose to go to work in the oil and gas industry in Texas instead of playing minor league baseball with the New York Yankees.
