The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a driver suspected in a fatal hit-and-run Aug. 4.

The office said in a news release that traffic units were dispatched to northbound Interstate 35E at Eighth Street in north Oak Cliff about 2:55 a.m. in response to a call about a person laying in the left shoulder of the road.A witness told deputies a black sedan with tinted windows struck the pedestrian in the left lane of traffic. The vehicle then exited I-35E at Colorado Boulevard less than a mile away.
