A heat advisory is in effect from noon to 8 p.m. as we make another run close to 100 today. Late-day storms possible, but not too big a threat.
Another day, another heat advisory. Heat index values surpassing 105 will increase chances for illness, and don’t plan on much relief tonight. We may even see another one issued for tomorrow, as it remains hot and humid ahead of a weak cold front. This front may set off some strong to severe storms later tomorrow as well. Sunday looks like a one-day break from humidity, though still pretty hot. After any early fog, clouds — even a stray shower — we sizzle.
A few thunderstorms could have damaging wind gusts near 60 mph and isolated flooding downpours. It’s still uncomfortably hot and humid, with high temperatures in the low and mid-mid-90s feeling as hot as 105. Confidence: Medium-HighShowers and storms may continue into the early morning hours, but any strong to severe storms should wane in intensity by late evening. Skies remain mostly cloudy as temperatures bottom out in the upper 60s to mid-70s.
