D.C.-area forecast: Briefly hotter today as storm chances stick around through Thursday

We return to near 90 today, but the rest of the work week should stay in the 80s, with more chances to catch up on needed rainfall.

Monday delivered decent downpours to parts of the area, and now we have three more days to keep working on our rainfall deficit as a stalled front keeps rain chances going through Thursday. While we could reach 90 today, the rest of the workweek should hold in the humid 80s. This upcoming final weekend of July should deliver mostly sunny skies and highs closer to 90 again, but not too humid.

Heavy downpours are possible again. It’s not as hot, with highs in the mid- to upper 80s, but still rather humid. Light winds come from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph, except gustier around any storms. Confidence: Mediumfeatures continued cloudiness with scattered showers and storms, again mainly during the afternoon into evening. Highs range through the humid mid- to upper 80s. More clouds, more showers, and some thunderstorms are possible Thursday night with lows in the upper 60s to mid-70s.
