On Friday, January 24, Braison Cyrus shared an Instagram Story with a photo of himself and his father. He wrote, 'I've spent the last year getting to know my dad better than I ever have.
After he spent a week in the hospital in the fall, I'm grateful that my dad is happy, healthy, and ready to make this record.' Braison continued, 'It's a rare opportunity to make something this special and tell my dad's story through music. Can't wait to finally share it.' This post follows the announcement that Billy Ray and Braison are working together on a yet-to-be-titled album. Trace Cyrus, Metro Station guitarist and Billy Ray's other son, responded to a fan's question about Braison's claims regarding their father's health on Instagram with a simple, 'Birds of a feather flock together.' He then posted videos of himself working out and wrote in the caption, 'Braison, I can help you too. Damn. Man up boys.' He followed up with a photo of Braison with a crying emoji, captioned 'That's my younger brother by the way,' seemingly referencing Braison's appearance. These exchanges come after Trace shared an emotional open letter to his father on Instagram on Wednesday, January 22. In the post, he expressed concern for Billy Ray's well-being after the 'Achy Breaky Heart' star's performance difficulties at Trump's post-inauguration Liberty Ball. Trace wrote, 'Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now.
