James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies.
CD Projekt Red might have moved on to the very early days of production on a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, but the original release remains a very popular game to return to, and Night City offers hundreds of hours of enjoyment if you commit to exploring its every neon-lit nook and cranny.
In a recent surprise announcement, the developer also confirmed that a free update is on the way for the game that will allow it to take advantage of the increased capabilities of the PlayStation 5 Pro. Though it won't come with any new content, the game is somehow going to look even better than it already does, and it will be well worth returning to if you have Sony's beefiest console. That said, there are plenty of other experiences based around the game that have continued to release, like Cyberpunk: Into the Night, a story-driven co-op card game from developer Night Crew Games. Now, another game is emerging onto the market for the first time, and though you'll have to go out of your way to play it, it does look like it could be well worth the trip. Cyberpunk 2077 Is Back With A Brand-New Game As first reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush is set to launch in 2026, as a Road Rash-esque racing game that you'll only be able to play in arcades. The game itself consists of two full-size motorcycles, and you'll be racing through iconic Night City locations, with the added caveat of weapons and bombs. Produced by arcade machine manufacturer UNIS Technologies, the footage on show looks pretty great, though there is the caveat of some notable frame rate drops when things start to move very quickly. At the same time, the significant motion blur likely won't be for everyone, particularly if you're sensitive to that kind of thing. The gameplay is going to be relatively simple, with just a few buttons to keep track of whilst remembering to steer the bike, but the fun is really had in direct head-to-head competition, and that will be its best chance of succeeding. Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush Is Coming To Arcades As mentioned earlier, the machines are exclusively coming to arcades, with the units set to start shipping in May of this year. Before that, the company will be offering a further look at them at this year's Amusement Expo, so we'll have a much better idea of what this latest Cyberpunk 2077 product will be like when it does. 8/10 Cyberpunk 2077 Like Follow Followed RPG Action Systems OpenCritic Reviews Top Critic Avg: 76/100 Critics Rec: 66% Released December 10, 2020 ESRB M for Mature: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol Developer CD Projekt Red Publisher CD Projekt Red Engine REDengine 4 6 Images Close
