Clan na Gael’s hard-earned five-point win over defending champions Crossmaglen on Sunday is to be celebrated according to their manager.
“First game of the round robin in the championship and Crossmaglen walk away with loads of learnings and thinking ‘There’s a long way to go’ and there is,” said McMahon. “We have brilliant footballers but we also have a group of players who desperately do not want to lose and that’s brilliant about them.”
Crossmaglen manager Anthony Cunningham, meanwhile, felt that Rian O’Neill’s penalty miss was vital, but admitted that his team were second-best on the day.
