The Armagh star also missed a late penalty as the defending champions suffered a five-point defeat in Davitt Park

Clan na Gael claimed a stunning five-point win over county champions Crossmaglen in a hard-hitting encounter in Davitt Park on Sunday.

Both teams played their county stars with Stefan Campbell and Shane McPartlan lining out for the hosts while the O’Neill siblings Rian and Oisin O’Neill were back for Cross along with Armagh panellists Callum Cumiskey and Cian McConville. Campbell edged his side back into the lead after 14 minutes before a fine score from Callum O’Neill put the home team two ahead for the first time.Pierce Blessing tucked away both goals with aplomb with Rian O’Neill engineering the first while McConville set up the second Cross goal.

Their fifth and final point of the game came from the boot of Oisin O’Neill five minutes into the second half - a score that levelled the contest once more after Campbell had briefly put his team ahead on the restart.
