Crosby ISD votes to become first Harris County school district to adopt a 4-day school week

All three were concerned about students in the district who are underserved already and will now face an additional expense for child care.Crosby ISD leaders voted 4-3 Monday night to become the largest school district in Texas, and first in Harris County, to adopt a 4-day instructional week.
“Our 'why' is simple and straightforward,” Patterson said. “We want to find, recruit and retain the best teachers in the state in the classrooms for our students. Some district leaders said they were concerned about the potential burden the new schedule could place on residents.
