Bad news for Bay Area drivers heading out for Thanksgiving dinner.

A crash involving at least five vehicles has snarled eastbound traffic on the Carquinez Bridge on Thanksgiving. CHP reported a multi-vehicle crash shortly before 10:45 a.m. on the span. So many cars were involved that three lanes of the bridge were blocked; around noon, the blocked lanes reopened but traffic was still heavy in the area.drivers seeking alternative routes won't find much relief by trying the Benicia Bridge; that too is experiencing gridlock traffic as people head off for Thanksgiving dinner.
