Although Irvin initially admitted he wanted Ashton Jeanty or Tetairoa McMillan, the Pro Football Hall of Famer was quickly drawn to Booker after speaking with the Alabama product. “As I’m talking to him and he’s talking, I started crying. I looked at him and said, why am I crying when I’m talking to you? I didn’t know why I was crying, but he was pulling tears out of me,” Irvin said. “I was like, I love this. I love this dude. This dude got some intensity. He loves the Dallas Cowboys.” "I got on the phone with this dude right here and I promise y'all, as I'm talking to him, I started crying."Irvin said Booker was the type of player Dallas needs as it looks to re-establish its physical identity. The Cowboys icon added that he started having visions of players like Larry Allen, Zack Martin, Travis Frederick and Tyron Smith when he thought about Booker.Irvin is still hoping Dallas adds another playmaking weapon to its offensive ranks. “Absolutely, we needed what we got last night,” Irvin said. “Now, I still want to get back in this play for George Pickens. Pick up a great receiver, a young receiver here and a running back. But last night, that was a victory for the Dallas Cowboys.
