A man was killed and his wife injured after being struck by a Route 64 SEPTA bus in South Philadelphia on Friday night. The couple was walking at Front Street and Washington Avenue around 7 p.m. when the accident occurred. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife was taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.
The Route 64 bus hit the couple as they were walking around 7 p.m. at Washington Avenue and Front Street, the transit agency said.

Philadelphia police were investigating the cause of the accident and SEPTA’s System Safety Division also was investigating, Busch said.
