With the rapid growth in San Antonio, new apartment complexes are being built and the San Antonio Apartment Association said that could mean lower rent rates.
Renters make up more than a third of Texas households, but they were largely overlooked as state legislators battled over which plan is best for Texas property tax relief.
“If you overbuild and you build too many projects, those units have to be absorbed, right? People have to move and get in so with city planners we try to project as much of what’s needed as possible,” said Gonzales. Although new apartment complex construction projects have slowed down, Gonzales says they’re expected to pick back up before the year is over.
