The global tally of coronavirus infections passed five million on Thursday, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, a stark milestone in the pandemic that continues to grip the world.
But even as the numbers continue to rise, green shoots of normalcy have emerged in parts of the world as governments continue lifting pandemic lockdown orders.
