SUNGAI BULOH: Police have recorded the statements of three individuals in connection with the theft of RM109,000 in financial aid for a school in Semenyih.
Acting Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk S.Sasikala Devi said two individuals were from the school while another was a restaurant worker.
"We have recorded the statements of three people in the course of the investigation. We will be calling up the bank's management to assist with the investigation as well," she told a press conference at the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters on Thursday . She added that police personnel have gone through CCTV footage of the crime scene, but have been unable to turn up any positive leads yet.It was reported that a thief broke into a headmaster’s car and escaped with RM109,000 which was kept on the front passenger seat of his car while he had gone to get a drink from a nearby restaurant on Monday .A police report was lodged about the incident at 12.17pm by the 50-year-old headmaster of a Semenyih primary school.
DCP Sasikala Devi said that the initial investigation showed that the the victim had withdrawn the money from a bank in Kampung Baru Semenyih at about 10am and placed the cash inside a bag in the car. When the victim returned to his car, he saw the windscreen on the rear passenger side was broken and the bag containing the cash was stolen.
