PORT DICKSON: Police carrying out enforcement of the movement control order (MCO) along the popular Teluk Kemang beach arrested a 25-year-old man for obstructing civil servants from carrying out their duties.

"The incident happened around 1.30am on Thursday along the ninth mile beach stretch.He said the case was being probed under section 186 of the Penal Code for voluntarily obstructing a public servant from discharging his or her public functions.Separately, Supt Aidi Sham said the police would continue with its operations to enforce the MCO till March 31.

"We have started conducting roadblocks and snap checks, as well as making public announcements since the MCO came into force on March 18," he said. He also advised the public to stay indoors and restrict their movements, except when they had pressing matters to attend to.
