Construction is underway at the North Olmsted City School District's new PreK-5 building on Lorain Road. Superintendent Chris Caleris reported significant progress, including foundation work and underground utility installations. The $66 million, 183,000-square-foot building is expected to open for the 2027-2028 school year and will feature air conditioning, a welcome addition to the district's current elementary schools.

The estimated $66 million, 183,000-square-foot Lorain Road building will be located on a roughly 20-acre site north of the existing Birch Primary School.include the beginning of foundation work, as well as installation of underground utilities -- electrical, plumbing and natural gas. “As we’ve started to delve more into the inside of the building, it’s just exciting to see what the kids are going to have to walk into every day. That to me is the most exciting part.”
