A suspect has been detained in connection to a deadly shooting in Conroe that occurred on Monday afternoon. According to Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle, they received a 911 call just before 2 p.
m. for a home on Shoreview Drive. Officials said the call was from an estranged wife who said her husband was coming into the home and crashed his vehicle into the home. Doolittle said the suspect, who has been identified as 57-year-old man, went into the home and started firing multiple gunshots. Doolittle stated the gunshots killed a 50-year-old woman and an 80-year-old woman believed to be the man's wife and mother-in-law. Officials said following the shooting, the man left and went to his son's home and then to his home on Ivy Lane where he later surrendered to authorities. Doolittle said the man has been charged with capital murder in connection to the shooting. Authorities believe the estranged wife and the suspect are married and the wife moved out of the suspect's home within the last week and was staying with her mother.Officials stated the suspect did not have a criminal history. Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding neighborhood. Officials said law enforcement will remain in the area of Shoreview Drive as the investigation continues. Officials did not provide the identities of the victims. The suspect's name was given during the news conference and we are working to get the correct spelling of his name for this report.
