Conroe brewery backs out of 'rally against censorship' featuring Kyle Rittenhouse. 'We don't do rallies, we make beer for people who like beer,' say the owners of Southern Star Brewing.

Rittenhouse, the 20-year-old Illinois native famously acquitted of criminal charges in the fatal shooting of two men during a 2020 Wisconsin protest, was scheduled to appear Jan. 26 at Southern Star Brewery in Conroe at an event that included Daniel Miller, a leader of the “Texit” movement calling for Texas to secede from the United States. Conroe-based Defiance Press & Publishing was hosting the event.

The company describes itself as “active in the fight against censorship through publishing conservative books which have been widely censored from mainstream media.
last year when it signed a book deal with Derrick Evans, a former West Virginia state lawmaker who filmed himself storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, for which he pleaded guilty to a felony charge and served three months in prison. Defiance Press also published a book by Miller in 2018 titled, “Texit: Why and How Texas Will Leave The Union.”
Cassandra Spencer, a Defiance Press publishing manager who previously worked for the conservative activist group Project Veritas, is also set to appear at the rally. A fourth guest, Justin Sheffield, is a retired Navy SEAL from San Angelo who wrote “Mob VI: A Seal Team Six Operator's Battles In the Fight for Good Over Evil.”
