The woman worked at 10 different Whataburger locations. She was a manager in Terrell, Texas, when she met her second husband, Glenn Claxton.
Connie Claxton quit her corporate job in downtown Dallas to don Whataburger ’s orange uniform in July 1970. Fifty-four years later, she’s hanging up her apron. “Wherever I would go,” the 83-year-old retired manager said, “I was Miss Whataburger .” Claxton made friends and met people from all walks of life — including her husband, at the cash register.
