Police in Connecticut said they arrested a woman Thursday who entered the Bristol police station and began opening fire on officers.
Authorities said Suzanne Laprise, 51, was charged with attempted murder, multiple firearms charges and using a gun while under the influence of drugs or alcohol in the shooting that started just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The bullet-resistant glass stopped the rounds, and officers inside the building tried to negotiate with the shooter.
That’s when the suspect started shooting at officers on the other side of the bullet-resistant glass, police said. One of the officers fired back, but none of the rounds broke through the glass, police said. Authorities said Ms. Laprise eventually set down her gun, and officers used a Taser to subdue and arrest her.
