Rain arrives Thursday night and continues through most of Friday. Most of the weekend is dry. A low-pressure center will move directly across Ohio during the day Friday. Rain, showers, and gusty winds will be the order of the day. By Friday evening, as the system drags a cold front through the state, a few pockets of snow showers will be possible. Accumulations look minimal, if any. The precipitation tapers off late Friday evening.
High pressure builds into the Upper Great Lakes by Saturday morning with some sunshine for Ohio. Clouds will break up as the day progresses. Temperatures will only peak in the lower-40s on Saturday with that northerly flow. Another system trundles into the Great Lakes on Sunday. This one drags a warm front into Ohio on Sunday with gusty winds from the southwest boosting temperatures into the mid-50s. Sunday remains generally dry and mild but mostly cloudy and windy. The groundhog may struggle to find enough sunshine for a shadow. That would mean an “early spring.” Even as the same system tries to drag a cold front through the state on Monday, temperatures will remain mild.
Tuesday is relatively quiet. Then an amorphous disturbance slides into the region on Wednesday. This one starts as a chaotic mess before an incoming low-pressure center helps it get more organized on Thursday. Scattered rain showers and some occasional evening wintry mix may be possible with the system on Wednesday. Then rain on Thursday with some wintry mix on the back end. Look for updates on the timing in the next few days.
