Tuesday’s warm temperatures are likely to help fuel storms overnight in Central Ohio.
Once the storms move out of the area, dramatically colder air will rush into the state with temperatures falling from the 60s at sunrise to the 30s in the afternoon, and 20s by Thursday morning.Strong storms are moving through the Chicagoland area this evening. One of the lows will slide into the Upper Great Lakes, and, in the process, it’s pushing warm, unstable air into Ohio.
The low-pressure systems drag a cold front into Ohio early Wednesday morning. Ahead of and along the front, showers and thunderstorms will continue. The morning commute is likely to be windy and wet. The Storm Prediction Center puts most of Ohio in the Slight Risk category for tonight and Wednesday morning. Southwestern and South Central Ohio have an Enhanced Risk for numerous strong storms to develop. Hail and gusty winds are the main threats. But an isolated tornado remains possible.
