“Twelfth Night” will be performed Nov. 2-19 in the McAninch Arts Center’s Studio Theatre at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn.
College of DuPage students will present one of William Shakespeare’s most well-known comedies. “Twelfth Night” will be performed at 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays Nov. 2-19 in the McAninch Arts Center’s Studio Theatre at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. It is directed by Doug Long of Lisle. There will be a preshow chat with the director and designers at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 2 and a post-show talk Nov. 10. Long has been involved with “Twelfth Night” several times.
Meanwhile, there are some “B” stories going on that involve Olivia’s steward Malvolio as well as Viola’s twin Sebastian. “All these stories intersect and by the end, in a crazy final act, they will all finally face each other,” he said. Despite the soap opera-level drama, the action is fairly easy to follow, he said. “Shakespeare carefully introduces you to all of them in separate scenes and then lets them start to move into each other’s stories and build on that.
