A seven-bedroom,15,820-square-foot Colonial-style brick mansion in Oak Brook’s gated Hunter Trails community was listed in late September for $11.99 million — a record asking price for the DuPage County suburb. Built in 2009 and decorated by interior designer Timothy Corrigan, the three-story mansion has 10 bathrooms, arched doorways, a dining room with hand-printed wallpaper, an office, four balconies and a kitchen with an island, a pantry and a breakfast area.
Public records show that the owners, who also built the mansion, are Varsha and Mehul Shah. The mansion had a $52,959 property tax bill in the 2022 tax year. The York Township Assessor assigns a value of $4.26 million to the mansion. No other mansion in Oak Brook’s history ever has been listed for the amount that the Shahs are seeking. Back in 2000, Chicago White Sox slugger Frank Thomas sought $11 million for his 30,000-square-foot, 41-room mansion, which carried a more than $8.
