The Biden administration said it's “actively engaging” with the Israeli army after a deadly airstrike on the Gaza city of Rafah.
“Coffee County is growing,” Coffee County Revenue Commissioner Ronnie Burns said during his recent annual report to the Coffee County Commission.
“Our year was a good one,” Burns said. “Last year we took in $22,125,026. This year we took in $24,364,975. That’s an 11% increase mostly due to construction but the point is, Coffee County is growing.” Burns said that the State General Fund was $111,279.12 more than the year before, the County General Fund was $344,240 more than the year before, and the Road and Bridge Fund was $168,613 more than last year.
Burns said that although there was very little property tax change in the town of Kinston—which increased $139 over last year—the other municipalities in the county showed a marked increase. “New Brockton had $3,365 more tax collected than the year before and Elba’s $5,618 increase is a good sign,” Burns said. “In Enterprise the increase was $239,062 over last year.”
