The ad was produced by three AI studios, Secret Level, Silverside AI, and Wild Card, utilizing four different generative AI models.
While the video went viral, it faced criticism from artists who argue that using AI to generate creative content disrespects human artists and potentially threatens their livelihoods. Alex Hirsch, creator of Disney's Gravity Falls, is among those who voiced concern about AI replacing human workers in the creative field. Coca-Cola defended its use of AI, stating that it aims to explore new ways to connect with consumers and that the ad represents a collaboration between human storytellers and AI technology. This isn't the company's first foray into AI; they previously collaborated with OpenAI for an AI-generated commercial and plan to partner with artists using AI and Coca-Cola's creative archives
