Lance Tobias, 56, pleaded guilty to shipping fentanyl pills from California to Cleveland, according to federal prosecutors.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 56-year-old Cleveland man who pleaded guilty to drug charges in connection using the U.S. mail to ship fentanyl has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
“Drug traffickers mistakenly believe that they can use the U.S. mail to move their deadly poison around the country and evade law enforcement,” First Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Baeppler said in a statement. “As this sentence demonstrates, using the mail system as a personal drug courier is a terrible idea and it’s one that can land you in prison for a very long time.”
