Cleveland Community Police Commission interim executive director Jason Goodrick filed a discrimination lawsuit on Monday.

“The City of Cleveland violated this law, and we will ensure the client will receive justice,” Spitz said. Goodrick worked for the city as the commission’s executive director from June 2017 until January 2023, when new commissioners were sworn in. In January 2023, one of the commissioners, Alana Garrett-Ferguson, told Goodrick he shouldn’t lead the commission because he was an “abuser of Black women and a white man,” according to the lawsuit.
