I was buried under debris and wood,” said Ken Hurst who lives in Harrisburg .
Hurst lives in a hotel and not in his Bellevue Park home after the tornado and strong storms from the remnants of Hurricane Debby. Now a tarp sits on top of his home as he works with no end date in sight to get his house fixed.Just down the street from Hurst more people are cleaning up the mess left by loading trees on cars, cutting branches off homes, getting businesses and other buildings squared away.
Jones opened her door Friday to down powerlines and even a tree on a car. She’s thankful the city stepped in. A city of Harrisburg spokesman said public works has been working 12-to-16-hour days and believe the damage will cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars. Jones believes she’s out about $1,500 from having to pay for hotel rooms and replace food.For hurst, who can now see inside his home for the street he doesn’t know how much the damage will cost him.
