Harrisburg was left with hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages after a tornado tore through the area Friday morning.

In a press conference Monday, city officials said that 111 buildings were in the path of the tornado, which moved from the area of the Brethren in Christ Church on Derry Street to the Penbrook line.In Harrisburg alone, officials expect the tornado to cost the city $150K for debris removal, $100K for road repairs and $167K in utility issues, like replacing utility poles.
Workers in Harrisburg's Department of Public Works have been working 12-16 hour days, and the city expects storm damage to be cleaned up by the end of the week.Homeowners can give the city written permission to come and remove debris from homeowner's properties, officials said. Anyone needing help can email the city.
