The City of Montgomery and Mayor Steven Reed will host a series of events Thursday with city, state, and national leaders.
) - , and others will come together for events aimed at engaging with the community, the city said in a press release.
Jeffries, Figures, and Reed held a press conference Thursday morning at the Rosa Parks Bus Stop in downtown Montgomery. U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell was also there. The four of them will also attend a “Get Out The Vote” event on the campus of Alabama State University. A Figures campaign spokeswoman said voters will have the opportunity to hear from local, state and federal leaders. The event is at 1 p.m. in the Acadome Banquet Hall.
Figures, Jeffries and Reed will then be joined by State Rep. Kenyatte Hassell for a community barbershop talk aimed at having casual conversations with the community and hearing what issues are important to them. It will be held at noon at Heritage Barber & Style Shop located at 1334 Carter Hill Road.
