Montgomery, Alabama

The shooting took place near North Pass Road and Alabama River Parkway, which is part of Councilwoman Beard’s statement.“I am deeply saddened and outraged by the recent surge in senseless acts of violence that have plagued our beloved city and communities. This wave of criminality is not just an assault on the peace and safety of our neighborhoods, but an affront to the very essence of our community values.

Let me be clear: these acts of violence are intolerable and unacceptable. They are perpetrated by individuals who have no regard for human life, no respect for the law, and no consideration for the suffering they inflict on innocent families and communities. The residents of Montgomery deserve better.

We will not stand by and watch our city be torn apart by the reckless actions of a few. This violence must end, and it must end now. When our city residents start to lose faith in our government and city leaders, a change must happen immediately. Today, I want to call on all my council colleagues and those in City Hall to have an emergency meeting on our next steps as we have open and honest dialogue about the crime that is plaguing our city. We cannot delay any longer or wait on the sidelines. We must aggressively attack to restore trust in our government.
