The first round of city funding for the nearly $2 billion price tag for the cost of renovating the EverBank Stadium was released Friday. That’s according to a court document filed by the Jacksonville City Council.

“They need to pay the players less, and the owners need to take charge and stop taking all the tax dollars, period,” Burtner said.When News4JAX reached out about the bill and received this statement: “There are better stadiums than that one, so I’m not saying it doesn’t need improvement but as long as it provides jobs and as long as people actually think the 10 million dollars is needed for that then it’s okay,” Kanwar said.“I’m not local. I know how it is to be taken advantage of and I think it’s ridiculous… bad enough people have to pay so much for tickets. I think it’s awful,” He said.
