Screen Rant is thrilled to exclusively present a new clip from the upcoming DreamWorks animated series Abominable and the Invisible City, which serves as a sequel to the 2019 fantasy adventure Abominable. The project was directed by Ruolin Li and written by Tiffany Lo, Ethel Lung, and Andi Hester. Despite the series itself being helmed by a different creative team, some of the original cast and several of the characters are back for a more expansive look at the magical world of the film.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Abominable followed the story of Yi, a teenager who discovers a yeti hiding on the roof of her Shanghai apartment. After naming him Everest, she sets out on a quest to take him back to the Himalayas along with her neighbor Peng and his cousin Jin. Chloe Bennet and Tenzing Norgay Trainor return as Yi and Jin respectively in Abominable and the Invisible City, but Ethan Loh and Darin De Paul have stepped in as Peng and Everest.
What To Expect From Abominable and the Invisible City Abominable and the Invisible City opens up the world originally introduced by Abominable, furthering the film's thesis that only a few people can see the magic around them and know what to do with it. Everest returns in the sequel series, ostensibly to guide Yi, Jin, and Peng in their new mission to uncover the magical creatures around them and help each one find its way home.
As the 10-episode season sets out to provide adventures throughout Shanghai and beyond, it is important to note that DreamWorks Animation sought to tell the story with authenticity. Thus, Abominable and the Invisible City is written, produced, directed, scored, and even designed by Chinese and Chinese American artists and creatives.
