There are several snow chances in the forecast for the Chicago area this week. The first chance will be Monday night into Tuesday, but a more significant round appears possible on Wednesday. A few inches of snow could fall Wednesday and Wednesday night, followed by another round of accumulating snow on Saturday.Tonight will be chilly with lows in the teens under mostly clear skies. Monday will be a seasonably nice day with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low to mid 30s.
There is a chance for a few light snow showers Monday night and then flurries on Tuesday, but little to no accumulation is expected. It may result in a few slick spots, but impacts should be minimal. Highs on Tuesday will be cold in the mid 20s.Snow is expected to develop and move into the Chicago area on Wednesday. This will be a day to watch as we get closer to the middle of the week. As of now, it appears that we could squeeze out a few inches of accumulating snowfall Wednesday into Wednesday night. Impacts to travel will be possible, especially Wednesday afternoon and evening.Lake-effect snow is possible in northwest Indiana Thursday morning, but most of Chicagoland will be dry with partly sunny skies and highs in the lower 20s. The daytime hours of Friday will be dry with mostly cloudy skies, and then another round of accumulating snow looks possible Friday night and Saturday. We'll be watching it closely
